World Animal Protection is a global organisation. They are involved in local animal protection in more than 50 countries, and through UN they advise governments about animal welfare.

Each year, there is a large number of human deaths in Kenya attributed to the viral disease rabies. Dogs are the primary source of infection to the deadly disease, and the population in Kenya is by WHO regarded to be in a high-risk zone. Every year, thousands of dogs are killed – often in inhumane ways. The killing is also a large expense for the public system in Kenya.

World Animal Protection works with a vaccination project for dogs, which can reduce the number of deaths among humans as well as safe dogs from painful killing methods.

The QATO Foundation has supported World Animal Protection’s vaccination project for dogs in Kenya.
