SPANA is a British charity organisation and has been the charity for the working animals of the world since 1923, providing free veterinary care to horses, donkeys, mules and camels in some of the world’s poorest countries.

The charity improves the welfare of working animals in three ways: free veterinary treatment, education and training to animal owners, and emergency and outreach projects.

The QATO Foundation has supported SPANA with funds to education material to schoolchildren in Mali. The material and project in general aim to promote positive attitudes and build empathy towards animals and increase the children’s knowledge of how to take best care of their animals - helping to ensure a better future for working animals.
