The Danish Animal Protection Association (Dyreværnet) is one of Denmark’s oldest associations whose aim is to protect animals.

The association was established in 1898 with the purpose of saving abandoned and homeless dogs from abuse and killing. Since 1910, the association has operated animal homes from different places in Copenhagen and one in Jutland, Denmark.

The Danish Animal Protection Association has more than 80 volunteers and each year they help more than 1200 distressed animals.

It is important for the association to show potential adoption families, what good animal welfare is when operating the animal homes.

The QATO Foundation has supported the association with funds to the renovation and extension of their stable for adaption cats.
